September 17 is designated as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787. All institutions receiving federal funding, including funding through the U.S. Department of Education, are required to hold an educational program pertaining to the United States Constitution on September 17 of each year (or in the preceding or following week if the date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday).
There are some great virtual programs planned through the National Constitution Center here: https://constitutioncenter.org/calendar/constitution-day-celebration HECCMA members should check out their programming line-up and register to attend!
Be sure to check your campus calendar for additional Constitution Day events on your campus! Our own event will be held on Tuesday, September 20, at 4pm entitled "Your Voter Plan"! Check it out!
