The United Way, The Greater Worcester Community Foundation and The Worcester Education Collaborative have partnered with the Esler Family Foundation to bring New York Times best selling author Heather McGhee in for a virtual event to talk about the devastating true cost of racism—not just for people of color, but for everyone. Heather’s Book, “The Sum of Us” debuted at #3 on the NY Times best seller list in March of 2021.
This event will be held virtually on Zoom on September 15, 2021 from 4-5pm.
Following her talk, they will hold a moderated Q+A to talk with Heather about how we might take action in the context of Worcester and other Massachusetts Gateway Cities surrounding issues of educational equity and other disparities in our communities.
The event is free to the community
